From her first piano lesson at the age of six, singer/songwriter Danielle Oliver has never looked back. Learning at this early age, it
wasn’t long until she began writing and performing her own work. Now,
Oliver is releasing a brand new video (directed by film director Rory
Hinds) to go along with her single "Advice" from her debut EP Sun For Snow.
The dreamy new video for "Advice" features a glamorous runaway bride and incredibly scenic views of Flathead Lake in Montana. Paired with her sweet vocals and clever songwriting, this effervescent indie pop song is sure to charm.
Although Oliver calls Whitefish, Montana home, she spent much of her youth attending school in her mother’s native country of Austria. It’s no surprise then that much of her creative influence comes from her love of Austrian culture and music, nature, and skiing. In 2003, her father’s passing brought a new life to her music as she sorted through an unfamiliar and paralyzing time of grief. During the next year, she used her new perspective to write a vast collection of songs that would eventually create Sun For Snow.
After graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and taking stage at legendary venues along the Sunset Strip, Danielle returned to her home state of Montana in order to begin the formation of her debut EP, Sun For Snow. Working with materials dated as far back as 2003, she recorded her debut release with recording engineer and producer, Brett Allen (Kris Kristofferson, Death Cab For Cutie) at SnowGhost Music. This EP truly depicts Danielle’s growth as a musician and as a person. Her use of lyrical storytelling backed by the intricate instrumentation from the glockenspiel, mellotron, and organs, creates smooth and playful melodies that often have the audience humming along.
