The feel-good story (and song) of the summer is here!
Two months after recording his song for producer Marco DeFelice in the jungles of Jamaica, Brother Lion is excited to share his sound worldwide. Upon meeting the Canadian music producer, Brother Lion’s genuine spirit and talent was immediately recognized. Armed with only an iPhone, DiFelice recorded Brother Lion’s original song, “Not Because I Am Poor”, which was then brought back to Toronto to lay down the music. The finalized song is a track evocative of the culture of Jamaica and the sincerity of Brother Lion’s lyrics, “I want to be myself. I don’t want to be no one else.”
While DeFelice was adding to the music in North America, Brother Lion suffered from an extremely dangerous fall. Earning a living by picking star apples, Brother Lion fell from a tree and as a result, will not be able to walk for a year. Since he will not be able to earn an income, the musical sales from his first single, currently on iTunes, will go straight into his bank account. Directly to the artist.
Aside from his official videos, a candid video of an improvised song shot by tourists has garnered over 50,000 views and comments calling him “inspirational.” Visit his official website to see both the raw and produced footage, as well as Brother Lion’s amazed reaction while watching his video for the first time.
